At our outdoor nursery, children immerse themselves in nature, spending most of each day in child-led free play. Our nursery is set within a stunning wildflower meadow known as the Paddock. Here, your child can explore a variety of engaging activities including:

• Mud Kitchen & Sensory Play: Engage with mud, sand, and water in our dedicated play areas.
• Nature Exploration: Climb trees, sit by the campfire, or relax under the magnificent sequoia spruce.
• Adventure Playground: Tackle the obstacle course and play on tree stumps.

Woodland Walk: A Journey Through Nature

Beyond the Paddock, our Woodland Walk offers children the chance to explore the best of nature. This serene area is perfect for:

• Wildlife Watching: Spot rabbits, squirrels, birds, and even grazing cows and horses.
• Tree Climbing & Den Building: Let imaginations run wild in the dappled shade of the trees.
• Stream Paddling & Mushroom Hunting: Discover the hidden treasures of the forest floor.

INDOOR AREA AND SHELTER

 

Indoor Base at Greenbank Gardens: The Coach House

Our indoor base, known as the Coach House, offers a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for children. This cozy space is designed to provide a range of indoor activities that complement our outdoor-focused nursery experience. The coach house can be found by locating a small black door to the right of the main house at Greenbank Gardens. 

Indoor Play & Learning Spaces

Within the Coach House, children have access to:

• Quiet Play Areas: Perfect for enjoying a story or engaging in calm, reflective activities.
• Creative Play Zones: Explore our construction, literacy, and messy play areas designed to stimulate creativity and learning.
• Inclement Weather Retreat: On rainy days, the Coach House provides a cozy space where children can change out of their wet clothes and warm up.

Outdoor Shelter & Exploration

Even when outside, we ensure comfort and protection from the elements with:

• Tarpaulins & Colemans Tent: We offer various outdoor shelters, including a colemans tent and tarpaulins. However, our adventurous children rarely stay in or under these for long, as they love to explore the natural surroundings.

As a partnership nursery, you can take advantage of Local Authority funding with us. We offer flexible options that allow you to:

• Use Your Local Authority Funding: Fully fund your child’s place at our nursery.
• Split Funding: Combine our services with other partnership providers, such as childminders, private nurseries, and Local Authority providers, to create a customized childcare solution that fits your family’s needs.
• Cross-Boundary Funding: Woodland Play Ltd. can use funding from other Local Authorities, such as Glasgow City Council, East Lanarkshire Council, East Ayshire Council, and many more.
